Introduction
Cytokeratin 14 is a member of the keratin family, the most diverse group of intermediate filaments. Cytokeratin 14 is a type I keratin, is usually found as a heterotetramer with two keratin 5 molecules, a type II keratin. Together they form the cytoskeleton of epithelial cells. Mutations in the genes for these keratins are associated with epidermolysis bullosa simplex. At least one pseudogene has been identified at 17p12-p11.
Description
KRT14 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 492 amino acids (1-472 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 53.8kDa.
KRT14 is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Source
Escherichia Coli.
Physical Appearance
Sterile Filtered colorless solution.
Formulation
KRT14 protein solution (1mg/ml) containing 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH8.0), 10% glycerol and 0.4M Urea.
Stability
Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time.
For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).
Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
